Feeling Creative

My good friend Kristin (http://afewthingstosay.blogspot.com/) lent me her yarn swift and ball winder about a month ago. I don't know how I ever lived without them! Dan heard my praises and I became the lucky recipient of my very own ball winder and swift (thanks Dan!!!!).
I plan to return Kristin's swift and winder at the knitting guild meeting this Tuesday, but I also wanted to do something to thank her for the lending.
I went through my fabric stash (yes...I have a fabric stash as well as a yarn stash...) and found some spring-like heavy material. I plugged in my sewing machine and put on my creative sewing hat :)
Ta-da!! This is what I came up with:
Two swift bags!
Kristin's swift is on the left and my new one is on the right. I made my bag first- the prototype. So- all of the modifications have been made on Kristin's bag.

Here they are all snug in their new 'homes'.

And no project photoshoot is complete without Westley deciding that I must be wanting to take pictures of him because he is so wonderful...

Now I am off to work on the sweater again...for those that asked the pattern and yarn I am using for the sweater are both listed on my projects page on Ravelry (CelticCat is my name).
I really need to work on the knitting accredation program, but since I am just getting over this cold I find it hard to concentrate still. My goal is I WILL get going on it by the end of the week :)

I never realized how much I enjoy talking...

I never realized how much I enjoy talking until I lost my voice. My voice left me last Thursday, when a cold settled in. Maybe it needed a vacation after so much use? It wasn't really fair though- because Dan was home for the week and I had booked vacation days to be off with him.

But on the positive side- I got a lot of knitting done! Last week Dan surprised me for Valentine's day with a few balls of some funky yarn. The catch was, that I had to use it to knit something for myself. So- I found a pattern for a hoodie and started knitting.
This is the back of it...almost done!!!
My sister in law and her boyfriend came to visit me today, after Dan left to go back to the base. They brought me this bouquet of daisies to cheer me up and make me feel better :) I think they are working!!!! Daisies are my favourite!!!
And last of all...This is my big present from Dan for my birthday that was this past Wednesday. It is a tattoo of a Celtic Circle of Cats. I have to go back in a few weeks and get a few parts fixed up and coloured in. I guess I was a bleeder and the artist knew he missed a few bits (like the claws from one of the cats!). I got it done on my back... It still looks a bit angry in this picture, because it was only 6 hours old!

Sofia's Baptism Sweater

Here it is!

Sofia's Baptism Sweater!

I finished it last night- then I washed and blocked it and set it to dry for the day.

This is Sully- a friend's dog who I am looking after. She is watching me take pictures. Horus was walking around me, trying to get me to pet him- you can see his ears at the bottom of the shot.

Horus is being brave here- sniffing Sully's nose. He is a big chicken when it comes to dogs... It might have something to do with the fact he was a stray. He is also afraid of plastic bags, the door buzzer, brooms and loud noises.
Sully got bored of watching me...

Westley was sitting in a chair beside me- he looked so cute I had to get a shot of him too!

The baptism is on March 30th...I will get some pictures of baby Sofia wearing it then. I made the dress she will be wearing, three years ago when Madeline was baptised. It is made from the skirt of my sister's wedding dress.

Whew! On to a new project!!!!!
